Low carb cauliflower steaks

Low carb Cauliflower steaks 

Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika 
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast (separated)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup  miyokos mozzarella cheese  *!if not dairy sensitive use regular mozzarella cheese 

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400F.
  • Trim the stem of the cauliflower and remove the green leaves.
  • Place the cauliflower right side up on a cutting board. Using a large knife cut the cauliflower in half then start cutting in 2 inch thick slices. Place the cauliflower slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Mix minced garlic with the olive oil in a small bowl & brush generously with the olive oil garlic mixture.
  • Season with spices & use 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast reserve the other tablespoon for the end.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes carefully flip the cauliflower steaks over and brush with more garlic oil.
  • Sprinkle with remaining nutritional yeast & mozzarella over the steaks.
  • Return to the oven for 25 minutes, until the cheese is golden and the edges of the cauliflower are brown.
