Over 90% of soy sold in the United States is genetically modified (GMO) which is known to kill healthy gut bacteria.
The crops are sprayed with the herbicide Roundup, which may be associated with adverse effects on health.
Soy contains high levels of phytic acid and phytoestrogens which withdraw nutrients when processed by your body.
These are found in soy burgers, milk, soybutter and are very harmful for thyroid function.
Soy has anti-nutrient properties that block absorption of minerals from the intestines which in turn slows the thyroid.
Studies have shown that the estrogenic and toxic effect is linked to breast, uterus, and thyroid cancer.
Soy has Omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. This can be problematic because too many Omega-6s in the diet can lead to inflammation and all sorts of health issues.
Soy has toxic chemicals that clog up the liver and can’t be metabolized, unless fermented.
If you do eat any soy, make it the fermented type like organic tamari which is also wheat free just try to consume very little amounts of it.
