Low carb Cauliflower steaks
Ingredients:
- 1 large head of cauliflower
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast (separated)
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup miyokos mozzarella cheese *!if not dairy sensitive use regular mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400F.
- Trim the stem of the cauliflower and remove the green leaves.
- Place the cauliflower right side up on a cutting board. Using a large knife cut the cauliflower in half then start cutting in 2 inch thick slices. Place the cauliflower slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Mix minced garlic with the olive oil in a small bowl & brush generously with the olive oil garlic mixture.
- Season with spices & use 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast reserve the other tablespoon for the end.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes carefully flip the cauliflower steaks over and brush with more garlic oil.
- Sprinkle with remaining nutritional yeast & mozzarella over the steaks.
- Return to the oven for 25 minutes, until the cheese is golden and the edges of the cauliflower are brown.
